Information, Schedule and REPERTOIRE
Wilmington is excited to be a part of the North Carolina Suzuki Association Play-in this year! This will be a full day event including two repertoire classes, one Music Mind Games class, an engaging concert for audiences of all ages, performed by professional musicians, and then the students concert of all the Suzuki songs listed below!
Cost: $40
for multiple siblings $5 less for each child

Schedule:
8:30 Checkin begins
9:00-12:00 There will be 3 different classes that students will attend with our guest clinicians. Two classes will be repertoire classes and one will be a Music Mind Games Class.
12:00 Break for lunch. Feel free to bring your own lunch or go grab something at one of the restaurants close to St Johns. At check in you can grab a list of restaurants that are close.
1:00 Child Friendly Concert with the Luminous Quartet

Guest Clinicians
JamesHutchins is a Suzuki violin teacher and teacher trainer with more than 30 years of experience, and he loves making music learning fun! His creative teaching style includes games, stories, imagination—and even using grapes to help students learn violin skills! James has taught students and teachers around the world and his students have performed at amazing places including the White House, Kennedy Center, and with the National Symphony. James lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, with his wife and son, and is excited to visit Wilmington, where his sister lives, and share his love of music with Suzuki students!
Maddie Stohl is a violinist, violist, and dedicated teacher who grew up right here in Wilmington, playing Suzuki violin at Stevenson Stohl Suzuki Studio. She loves sharing her passion for music with students and has performed at festivals and venues throughout the country while earning degrees in music from East Carolina University and the University of Maryland. When she’s not playing or teaching, Maddie enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, snowboarding, and spending time at the beach!
Christina Wohlford has been teaching and performing violin and viola for more than 10 years and first fell in love with the violin at age 7 through a Suzuki program at her elementary school. She earned her Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in Performance from East Carolina University, where she studied violin and viola and completed extensive Suzuki teacher training. Christina loves teaching students of all ages and continues to grow as a teacher through additional training in programs including Every Child Can!, Suzuki Principles in Action, Music Mind Games, and Suzuki Early Childhood Education.
The Illuminos Quartet is made up of four professional musicians, including Camden Stohl, a native Wilmington violinist! They love sharing the joy of music with audiences of all ages and are excited to present a kid-friendly concert featuring music by Caroline Shaw, a North Carolina native composer. Come hear the beautiful sounds of a string quartet and discover just how much fun classical music can be!
